Main project goals
- creation of a concept for data archiving and data deletion in SAP
- reduction of database usage in preparation for an S/4 conversion

Solution
- At the beginning, database, table and interface analyses were used to determine where personal data – in the sense of the GDPR – can be found and where it is distributed. Subsequently, a more detailed examination of the results and an analysis of the business processes took place in the course of several workshops with the affected departments. Based on the results, an overall concept was developed with the involvement of a data protection officer.
- The SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) component was chosen as the central element in the implementation.

- The starting point for the optimization was the deviations in the WBS BOMs for design and logistics. In the first step, the WBS BOM was defined as a core element for all processes in an investment project.
- The technical implementation is based on the SAP-certified CNT industry solution proBOM. This solution can be used to convert design bills of materials with specified quantities into a new structure optimized for logistics.

- The detailed analysis of the actual and target processes resulted in a catalog of requirements that served as the basis for both the software selection and the definition of the blueprint. The template development and the implementation in the main companies of the respective division in AT were carried out in one step. At the same time, the template was rolled out to the UK and AE.

- During template development, the main processes of the most important subsidiaries were taken into account and the general process tasks and delimitations were defined.
- Special attention was paid to an overall approach in the highly integrated SAP ERP system in order to efficiently handle business processes in the future. In this respect, the certified industry solution from CNT – proSolution© – was used.

S/4HANA Conversion
Main project goals
- convert existing R/3 system to S/4HANA

Solution
- The existing R/3 system is copied without data to a new database (HANA) and lifted by CNT to S/4HANA using SUM.
- customizing for profit center accounting with document split, other adjustments in customizing/coding
- Selective data migration together with SNP – CrystalBridge selects the data to be taken along on the basis of selection rules and then codes the data into the new structure using mapping rules defined together with the client. The data is loaded into the new system.
- The “old” system remains frozen for the next few years as a one-touch system.

- Apart from the newly defined processes, only necessary adjustments are made.
- The costs are significantly lower compared to the greenfield approach.

- The existing solution for the order monitor and the invoice receipt monitor could continue to be used with ARIBA integration, which did not change the workflow for specialist departments.
- Thanks to the implemented integration and ARIBA-SCC, the client is now able to exchange documents with suppliers via a standardized and certified platform.
- The procurement process was accelerated by automating the document exchange and the error rate was minimized.
